The Power of Catholic Education The Lima Central Catholic Educational Foundation (LCCEF) and all Lima Catholic Schools are dedicated to partnering with families to provide a comprehensive education rooted in experiencing Jesus Christ through His values and teachings. As the only private Catholic high school in Lima, LCC’s students learn to be stewards of their faith, serve the community and use their God-given talents, while being offered the highest quality education. The members of our exceptional faculty bring out the best of our students' minds, yet balance the importance of community and faith in everything they do. The Lima Central Catholic Educational Foundation’s role is to ensure these opportunities are here for future Thunderbirds for many years to come by providing assistance to all students with financial needs, regardless of a pandemic or other economic hardship. It provides funds for tuition assistance, sets up scholarships from donors, and invests its corpus to assure a future for Lima Central Catholic. Since its establishment in 1981, the trustees of the LCCEF have quietly been working to make sure LCC remains affordable and offers the highest quality of Catholic Education to the Lima Community. As of the Fall of 2020, the Foundation has administered six million dollars in tuition assistance. In addition, the LCCEF maintains a general asset fund to address operational needs of the school. Our campaign began two years ago at the direction of the LCCEF and the Capital Campaign Committee. It was designed to have a quiet phase followed by a very public phase. 2020 was difficult for everyone, and put the campaign in a position of remaining quiet, but we continue nonetheless. This campaign was designed as a $6,000,000 initiative.  Funds raised through the campaign will be disbursed as follows:

The Lima Central Catholic Educational Foundation’s leadership desires to grow the endowment for the long-term viability of the high school.  Their mission is to provide funds to help keep tuition costs down and provide tuition assistance for students who might otherwise be unable to attend Lima Central Catholic High School. Lima’s three pastors, Father Kent Kaufman, Father Mike Sergi and Father David Ross, the school Governing Board and administration, and the LCCEF Trustees are committed to making the LCC experience affordable to as many families as possible.

LCC is simultaneously looking to address near-term financial needs because of a projected enrollment dip through 2022. During this temporary enrollment decrease, it is imperative that we maintain programs to retain the growing enrollment in the elementary schools as they enter high school and remain active in the appeal to the broader community of potential families seeking a faith-based education.  Campaign funds will help address the current educational needs of the parish schools St. Charles, St. Gerard, and St. Rose. Our three parish schools are the seedbed of LCC. Growing elementary schools create a great opportunity to grow our high school. We have been blessed with very generous and caring alumni, and ongoing challenges and matching opportunities continue. The classes of 1976, 1978, 1981 and 1982 are uniquely challenged. If each of the four classes can raise $100,000, four alums will match that amount for a total of $400,000. And, if all four classes succeed, an additional $100,000 will be donated. At that point, we will have pledges totaling over five million dollars! As we enter into the public phase of this campaign, we need your prayers and assistance. The Lima community, family, friends and alumni of LCC can make this campaign a success. In spite of the pandemic, when the above class challenges are met, the LCC Educational Foundation will have reached 83% of our goal. We need your help to reach our goal. Will you consider investing in LCC to enable us to continue our mission to form young men and women in the likeness of Christ and make a difference in our world? We Remember our past, and ask for your help to Ensure our future.
